Chess: THE SEQUEL

I'm building a new game that's my own twist on the classic game of Chess. There are only two changes to classic chess, which should provide some interesting gameplay:
  1. There are no kings to capture, no check, and no checkmate. Instead, you must wipe out all of the opposing team's pieces. Think of it as a chess deathmatch.
  2. Every chess piece can move as it normally would. In addition, each piece has one special ability that the player can choose to use for his turn, instead of moving a piece in the ordinary fashion. You can see two above as examples (pawns self-destructing to kill themselves and the piece in front, or a rook jumping over one piece and killing the piece behind it while sacrificing itself).
I haven't thought of a name for this yet.
